Evolution and Implementation of Radiographic Response Criteria in Neuro-oncology

Abstract Radiographic response assessment in neuro-oncology is critical clinical practice and trials. Conventional criteria, such as the MacDonald RANO rely on bidimensional (2D) measurements a single tumor cross section. Although criteria are established for trials, there need to address complexity of brain treatment with multiple new approaches being proposed. These include volumetric analysis compartments, structured MRI reporting systems like Brain Tumor Reporting Data System (BT-RADS), standardized advanced imaging techniques distinguish from effects. In this review, we discuss strengths limitations different summarize current research findings role novel methods trials practice.
